We wanted a kind of significant pattern in this one so we all created circle movements to create this effect.

I had to keep the shutter open for this long as i tried to write something

in the light painting.

Shutter Speeds

Light Paintings

Firstly exposure means how much light hits the sensor in a camera. the ways in which to control this is aperture and shutter speed.

Shutter speed measures how long light is allowed into the camera. Shutter speed is measured in fractions.

Fast Shutter Speed

Slow Shutter Speed

A fast shutter speed e.g 1/1000 will freeze the movement in an image so the image appears sharp.

A slow shutter speed e.g. 1/4 sec, blurs movement in an image so the moving objects in the image appear less sharp.

Light painting is where a camera records light/movement in an image for as long as the shutter is open.
