Aperture
Aperture is how much light is let into a camera. The higher the aperture the smaller the shutter speed and as you can see from the diagram the higher the apererture f number the smaller the light is let into the camera.

Depth of field
Depth of field is how much range of distance is sharp in an image and this depends on aperture. Deep depth of field is when less light is bounced around in a camera and the focus is kept more on the overall picture than a specific object in a picture and this means it has a higher f number of aperture. Shallow depth of field is when the focus is on a specific object in a picture and the background is left blurry and this means there is a lower f number of aperture.

At f/5.6, the flowers are isolated from the background.
At f/32, the background competes for the viewer’s attention.

i shot this photograph at f//32, i wanted everything to stand out.
i shot this at f/8 to make the branch stand out but also the backround of thebranch to be slightly blurry so the branch would stand out more.
this was shot at f/22 so most of the photo would be in focus.
In this picture there is a lower F number of aperture. To be exact it is on f5.6 which was not exacts as you can see the berry is a bit blurred and should have been more focused.
